Low vision is a condition characterized by significant visual impairment that cannot be corrected with standard glasses, contact lenses, medication, or surgery. Individuals with low vision face challenges in performing everyday tasks, leading to a reduced quality of life.
1. Central Vision Loss: This type affects the ability to see details, making activities like reading and recognizing faces difficult.
2. Peripheral Vision Loss: Here, the field of view is narrowed, creating a tunnel-like effect and limiting awareness of surroundings.
3. Blurry or Hazy Vision: This type blurs the entire field of vision, making it hard to focus on anything clearly.
Each type of low vision presents unique challenges, necessitating tailored solutions to improve the lives of those affected.
Aura Vision Glasses have been meticulously designed to address the challenges faced by individuals with low vision. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, these glasses offer features that cater to a variety of visual impairments. The device tackles specific issues for different types of low vision as follows:
Central Vision Loss: The image from the camera is magnified and displayed in the glasses. This helps the user read text more effectively, recognize faces better, and discern finer details overall.
Peripheral Vision Loss: The image from the wide-angle camera is fit into the visible field of view of the user. This helps the user maintain awareness of their surroundings at all times.
Blurry or Hazy Vision: The image obtained from the camera is sharpened and displayed on the glasses. Users also have full access to customize the image with adjustable sliders for contrast, sharpness, and zoom to suit their needs on the go.
Additionally, Aura Vision Glasses offer a dedicated reading mode that maximizes the contrast to display text as black on white or white on black, making reading easier and more accessible for those in need.
